You Can Now Sign Up For a Social Media Influencer Diploma Course in Dubai

The American university in Dubai in collaboration with Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication (MBRSC) has announced that starting from September, students will be granted the chance to apply in a course of how to become a full-time influencer.

Accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, AUD will be offering a six course diploma programme on how to make a living on social media. So for those doubting the role of social media influencers, it’s getting official and you can now have a diploma to prove so!

In these courses, students will learn the skills needed for public speaking, in addition to helping them develop creative worthy content for them to use on social media platforms and also develop social media strategies that best appeal to their targeted audience.

The aim of the course is also to teach future influencers the ethics and etiquette of social media, that and to help them gain the conceptual knowledge and practical skills required to analyse news and detect fake news.

The Programme will be delivered by the faculty of the Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communication at the AUD campus. They will be supported by adjunct faculty who are seasoned media professionals and also by guest speakers who are notable social media influencers.

“The programme comes in line with Dubai’s vision to develop and empower talented individuals in various fields and enhance their role and contributions in the advancement of their communities,” says Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, President of the Dubai Press Club. “The launch of the first academic programme of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for social media influencers will have a direct positive impact on the media content being produced on social media platforms across the region.”

“The Diploma Programme was designed to be aligned with the objectives of the Arab Social Media Influencers’ Club (ASMIC), which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai three years ago,” Al Marri adds. “ASMIC has now become an important platform dedicated to enhancing the role of influencers and encouraging innovation and creativity in the different fields that influencers operate within.”

The Most Challenging Race ‘Wadi Adventure’ Returns to the UAE on Saturday

The number one obstacle race in the UAE, the Wadi Adventure Race returns for its 20th edition of the race this Saturday on the 26th of October.

This challenging one of a kind event will take place in Al Ain and will kick off at 8:00 AM. The Wadi Adventure Race has been growing significantly with each passing year to witness not only a larger number of participants but also spectators.

This year’s edition will witness over the 1,000 participants, spectators, supporters, media personnel and fitness enthusiasts, who will come together from all over the UAE to attend the remarkable race.

Just like the previous editions of the race, this series will once again provide three courses for the race: 5 KM, 10 KM and 15 KM races, natural and man-made hurdles, water features, barbed wire fences, sandbags and cargo netting, and finally a 52 military style obstacles.

Ticket prices range from AED175 to AED391 depending on which category you choose, and the amount will also cover a certificate, live results, medals, timing, T-shirts, and more.

Mariah Carey and Hussain Al-Jasmi to Perform In Dubai For Expo2020 and Tickets are Free!

Superstars Mariah Carey and Hussain Al Jasmi are set to perform live in Dubai at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, on October 20 and it is a free-to-attend concert.

The concert is being held in light of the ‘one year to go’ celebrations of Expo2020 and the artists will perform alongside a number of DJs and musicians including DJ Bliss, Abri and the Funk Radius and Khalifa.

The music will be accompanied with several festivities including a magnificent display of fireworks and a countdown is scheduled to be shown on Burj Khalifa. 

Moreover, simultaneous festivities will happen across the other six emirates at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Ajman Museum, Umm Al Quwain Corniche, Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Fort.

Dua Lipa Returns to the UAE for Another Gig Next Month

The British hit-maker and songwriter Dua Lipa is set to return to the UAE next month for another gig at the Palm Jumeirah. 

The English artist, who just performed earlier in the UAE, will headline the concert taking place at The Pointe and tickets just went on sale yesterday.

Last November, Lipa was supposed to perform at the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first anniversary, but had to cancel last minute due to bad weather which disappointed a lot of her fans and so this time, we expect her to make it up for them big time and we can’t wait! 

The incident to which Lipa responded by expressing her sadness, as she wrote on Twitter: “I really wanted to sing and dance for you. Hopefully I will be back very soon.” And she is back, so to all fans, get ready to dance all night and sing along her best hits including  IDGAFHotter Than Hell, and Be The One. 

The concert will start at 4pm, with a line-up of opening acts and entertainment at The Pointe’s West Side event arena.
