The Arab Fashion Week is an event where more than 70 designers from the Middle East region and Asia are brought together in one iconic place, to preview their autumn/winter 2019 collections.
This one of a kind event is hosted by the Arab Fashion Council in collaboration with Meraas and Umdasc. This year it is taking place on April 24-28, in Dubai’s first ‘Ready Couture‘ concept store, 1422 in City Walk Dubai.
The iconic store that is set to open this month for public after the event, it is designed specifically for luxurious shopping.
The space has a catwalk incorporating cutting edge technology. Which attracted record participation from the Middle East’s most talented designers, and we can’t wait to see their designs rock the runway show.
The event will witness runway shows, private trunk shows, pop-ups and presentations from the number of designers who will be present in the show. Expect to see some of the well-known names in the field, such as Amato, Aisha Ramadan, Rami Kadi and Bluemarine.
Another highlight to look forward to seeing is the latest offerings from the philanthropic brand BLESSED, Saudi-based Sara Altwaim and sustainable label Bav Tailor.
“The Arab Fashion Week is a powerful platform for local, regional and international fashion designers and design houses to show the rest of the world how fashion is evolving in the Middle East,” said Arab Fashion Council chief executive officer, Jacob Abrian. “We are proud to see the event evolving to become an international attraction hosting brands, media and buyers from around the world.
The four-day event will run under the themes, See-Now; Buy-Now Spring Summer 2019 and Ready Couture Fall Winter 2019, and this eighth edition of the Arab Fashion Week is expected to attract a large number of trend-setting designs and capsule collections.
Around 26,000 guests are expected to attend the event, whereas they’ll get the opportunity to view the runway directly at 1422 Store.
After the concluding of the Arab Fashion week, the store 1422 will be opened permanently to the public, as the world’s very first Ready-Couture store in the region.
Iconic Fashion Designer Thierry Mugler Dies at 73
Known for his iconic designs, and his ravishing pieces Manfred Thierry Mugler dies at the age of 73. Born in Strasbourg France, he was a talented performer, model, and an acrobat. The designer’s death was a shocking news for the fashion world, and his celebrated reputation follows him.
