Turki Al-Sheikh Launches Joy Forum to Position Saudi Arabia As a Leader in Entertainment

The General Entertainment Authority (GEA) is hosting an event that will bring together entertainment pioneers from around the world, the Joy Forum19 is launched by GEA Chairman Turki Al-Sheikh and will open on October 13. 

The two-day event will be held at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh and it is part of the Kingdom’s efforts in putting the country on the map as an entertainment destination for tourists.

The forum will host speakers, experts, CEOs, international academics and companies in the field of entertainment from Saudi Arabia and other countries across the world, including A-listers from Hollywood and Bollywood.

The names expected to attend include Clement Wong, Vice President at Huawei Global Product Marketing; Bill Ernest, CEO of SEVEN; Marco Balich, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Balich World Shows; Mohammad Al-Abbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Emaar; Mohammad Al-Zaabi, CEO of Miral Asset Management; Sultan Al-Hokair, Fawaz Al-Hokair Group Vice President for Food and Entertainment.

In addition to Fahad Hamidaddin, General Supervisor of Investment, Strategy, Marketing and Programs at the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage; Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the Ad Diriyah Gate Development Authority; Scott Givens, President and CEO of Five Currents; and Martin McDonnell, CEO and co-founder of Sublime and the founder of Soluis.

During the forum, several case studies regarding successful entertainment projects will be highlighted and discussed in order to discover new ways of implementing change and expanding the horizon for Saudi Arabia, that includes discussing growth opportunities for the local economy.

Also included is an entertainment exhibition workshop where researchers, designers, developers and businessmen will get together from various fields in designing, developing, evaluating and marketing events for the Saudi market.

The Kingdom Is Hosting The World’s Very First Desert Polo Tournament

The Kingdom is set to host AlUla Desert Polo, the first of its kind to be held in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation and also the world’s very first ever desert polo tournament.

The tournament is set to make its debut early next year on January 16th till the 18th, which will take part of the Winter at Tantora Cultural Festival. 

The tournament will take place at one of Saudi’s most exquisite locations, the UNESCO heritage site in AlUla which will open to the public in October, the Desert Polo is also considered as a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s sporting and social journey.

This huge event will be organized by the Royal Commission for AlUla in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation, Desert Polo is one of the highlights of the three-month long Winter at Tantora festival, which runs from December until March with many musical and entertainment activities in store for visitors.
“This tournament is a celebration of the transformational journey that we are making in Saudi Arabia”, Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation Amr Zedan and an international polo patron said.

“Our goal in promoting this extraordinary event is twofold. We want to tap into the undiscovered sporting talent that we know exists among young Saudi men and women and encourage greater levels of participation in our sport.” He added.

Saad Lamjarred Set to Perform in Riyadh This Month!

This Riyadh Season is full of firsts and surely filled with surprises and this time it is bringing you the Moroccan pop-star Saad Lamjarred this month for one lit musical night.

Jason Derulo to Headline Closing Night Concert at the Riot Games Fest

The three-day ‘Riot Games‘ festival has announced that the international star Jason Derulo will headline a concert for the closing night of the event, The Nexus, happening in Riyadh Boulevard. 

Jason Derulo is set to take on the stage next Saturday for one epic closure to the immersive themed festival which revolves around the iconic League of Legends.

The event where participants get to compete for a share of $2 million prize from six competitions, bringing the number of participants to the Nexus Festival to a total of 30,000.

Valuable prizes aren’t the sole motive but also the incredible line-up with Los Angeles-based DJ, Mako, and electronic music stars Crystal Method from Las Vegas who are set to perform on Friday and Saturday night.

The event which is part of this Riyadh Season, will run from December 5th to the 7th of December.
