This Beauty App Allows You To Virtually Try Make-Up On Before Purchasing

Golden Scent a Saudi beauty e-commerce site is taking online shopping to the next level through the introduction of a virtual try-on feature, which enables customers to try the make-up on before purchasing without having to physically do so.

This new shopping experience is the first augmented reality (AR) of its kind in the entire region, and it hopes to revolutionize the way of viewing products in real life.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Virtual Try-On feature within our Golden Scent app,” Malik Al Shehab, Founder and CEO of Golden Scent said. “We are confident that the beauty customer will enjoy, engage and appreciate a more immersive experience.”

According the brand, this new feature had already succeeded in increasing the sales. Not only this, but it also wins big in the sustainability department seeing that it is contributing in reducing plastic from the unwanted and returned items.

It will also help cut down unnecessary carbon emissions from delivering the products that end up getting returned.

Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi Carries On With the Legacy of Her Late Brother Khalid Al Qasimi

Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi has been named the creative director of London menswear label Qasimi and by that, continuing the reign of her late twin brother Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi who passed away on July 1.

Sheikh Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi was the label’s fashion designer and the son of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Now according to a statement that was released by the brand, Sheikha Hoor is taking over and will be in charge of all business responsibilities and creative of the brand, with of course the help and support of the design team and head of design Adam Rice.

“While bringing her artistic sensibility to Qasimi, Hoor will seek to maintain Khalid’s aesthetic, which was centered around the idea of an urban nomad and built upon the pillars of architecture, color, military details and social-political messaging. She will strive to stay true to this messaging.

“Above all, Hoor will endeavor to preserve – and further – Khalid’s legacy and make sure that his memory is kept alive. She will present autumn/winter 2020 during London Fashion Week Men’s in January 2020, as Khalid’s last show, before presenting her own inaugural collection, spring/summer 2021 in June 2020.” The statement added.

Saudi Arabian designer Honayda Serafi has been proving herself as a leading designer for Hollywood celebrities from dressing up Priyanka Copra to Lupita Nyong’ and many more A-listers, to landing on the cover of Forbes Middle East and now is getting ready for Paris Fashion Week. 

The Arab designer that has just been recently named as one of the top business women in the Middle East and got featured on the cover of the prestigious Forbes Middle East, is now getting ready to take PFW by storm!

 

“I had a vision that I wanted to start a brand since I was a little girl,” Serafi told Forbes. “The brand is about women empowerment and my designs are inspired by women.”

“When I started my own business, I was rejected many times by many saying things like you don’t know [how to do business], you don’t need to [have a business], why do you have to start a business even,” Serafi tells Forbes.

This comes weeks before Saudi National Day and it is a true inspiration of how capable and empowered Saudi women are, Marriam Mossalli, founder of the luxury fashion consultancy Niche Arabia reflected on the work of Serafi’s and commented on her huge accomplishments saying, “I couldn’t think of a better representation of Saudi fashion and talent.”

Now, the Arab designer is getting ready to showcase her latest collection at the Paris Fashion Week, taking place on September 28.

Saudi Model Roz Is the New Face of Guess’ Autumn Campaign

Guess has launched its new autumn collection earlier this month with the Saudi Model Roz as the front of the ad campaign who represented the brand’s newest handbags, eyewear, watches and footwear collection.

The shots were taken in Los Angeles by renowned photographers Claudia and Ralf Pulmanns. 

In an Instagram post last week, the Saudi influencer wrote, “six years ago I decided to pursue my dream to become a model. I knew it was going to be a big challenege and that I had to do everything on my own. I wasn’t scared of the noise from people or society, however I was scared to fail.”

Determined and fearless, the model has been proving herself in so many way and this wasn’t even her favorite time to pose for Guess, as she was also the face of their Ramadan collection that launched back in May and showcased Roz in an elegant and modest dresses suitable for Middle Eastern women.
