So if you believe you’ve got what it takes to join the competition, then hurry up  to enter, as films selected will be included in the platform’s film programme next December.

The competition was first launched last year, as a way to support upcoming filmmakers in the UAE and surrounding region. In addition to the film programme, SFP supports two other core components: a public programme featuring workshops and discussions, and the premieres of the Short Film Production Grant recipients’ films.

Last year’s inaugural SFP featured the screening of over 140 short and feature-length narrative, documentary and experimental films made by local, regional and international filmmakers from 40 countries.

The competition truly sets a great opportunity for both upcoming and established filmmakers, critics, film producers and students.

Deadline for submission is June 1, to apply visit sharjahart.org

Gwyneth PaltrowKate Hudson and Zoe Saldana, all of these Hollywood giants have been featured in the latest campaign video of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) and the teasing videos look epic!

Three teasers have launched with the title A Story Takes Flight on Youtube, showing the leading ladies Gwyneth, Kate and Zoe exploring the Old Town of Dubai all the way to its desert.

“One of my favorite parts of traveling is to truly connect with a city, its people and the local culture,” says Gwyneth Paltrow, “Dubai is special because it’s a melting pot. Both the ones born here, who are so proud of their heritage, and those who are recent transplants, bringing with them their own values and traditions, contribute to writing the future story of the city. My time in Dubai was beyond anything I expected and there’s still so much more to see.”

“The variety Dubai gave me was perfect. I went from riding horses at sunrise to watching the sunset from 150 meters in the sky. I can’t wait to bring my boys here to continue the adventure.” Zoe Saldana says in her video.

While Kate Hudson said in a statement, “honestly, I was so grateful for the hospitality I received. I spent a lot of time exploring the winding streets of Old Dubai.”

“It’s incredible to find such a vibrant art and music community in the heart of such a modern, futuristic city – which is what most people think Dubai is. But really, the friendliness of the people is what made my visit amazing, and it’s why I’ll come back.” She added.

We can’t wait to see the rest of the campaign, especially with those teasers showing potential and looking promising.
