Saudi Prince Faisal bin Badr passes away, Royal Court announces

According to an announcement from the Royal Court, Saudi Prince Faisal bin Badr bin Fahd bin Sa’ad bin Abdulrahman Al Saud has passed away.

Funeral prayer is set to be performed for him on Tuesday following Assr Prayer, at Imam Turki bin Abdullah in Riyadh. A statement from the Saudi Royal Court said.

Our prayers go to him and the royal family, may god soothe their souls.

Main Road in Sharm El-Sheikh Gets Named After King Salman

According to a report from the Saudi Press Agency, the main road in the Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh has been named after King Salman. 

Governor of South Sinai, Khaled Fouda, announced the decision during a ceremony that was held to celebrate the 37th anniversary of Sinai Liberation Day.

Osama Nugali, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador and the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the Arab League, took part in the event where the announcement was made.

He thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and several senior officials, for such a kind gesture and for bestowing the honor on King Salman.

Saudi Arabia Makes it to Ninth Place on a US List of Powerful Countries

Saudi Arabia ranks ninth most powerful country in the world in terms of financial and political influence, according to a study published in the Business Insider magazine.

The study is done by the US News and World Report’s “2019 Best Countries” in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania, the results are conducted from surveys that were gathered from more than 20,000 people, that asked for their opinions on 80 countries.

The study described Saudi Arabia as the ‘Middle East giant’; seeing how it’s not only a destination for pilgrims from all over the world, who come yearly to visit Mekkah, but it also has large oil reserves and exports to many countries around the world.

The US made it to the top of the list, followed by Russia, China, Germany and Britain. The UAE also made it to the list, ranking the 11th powerful country. And the World Economic Forum named it the ‘most competitive economy in the Arab world.’

The study bases its rankings according to the political and financial influence of the country, The US News and World Report Ranking also look at the international alliances of the countries and their military power as well.
