The Saudi all-girls Green football team won second place at the Global Goals World Cup (GGWCup) tournament which was held earlier in the big apple, on the side-line of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Greens were established by the Saudi Sports for All Federation which is led by Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, in order to promote for the wellness of individuals across the Kingdom.
In light of this remarkable accomplishment of the girls, HRH Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Ambassador to the US, expressed her admiration and showed support for the Greens team by taking part in a panel discussion organized by the GGWCup regarding the role of sport in achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 5.
Princess Reema further took to Twitter to announce the happy news and congratulate the girls saying, “So proud @greens_saudi won 2nd place at @ggwcup in NYC, on the sideline of #UNGA. This @Saudi_FSA initiative highlights sports impact on global issues.”

“The Greens’ participation in the Global Goals World Cup demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and shows how sports and fitness can play a role in confronting our shared environmental challenges,” said HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, President, SFA in a statement.
“Under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has made the environment and the overall health of our citizens a top priority,” Prince Khaled added.
The Kingdom Is Hosting The World’s Very First Desert Polo Tournament
The Kingdom is set to host AlUla Desert Polo, the first of its kind to be held in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation and also the world’s very first ever desert polo tournament.
The tournament is set to make its debut early next year on January 16th till the 18th, which will take part of the Winter at Tantora Cultural Festival.
The tournament will take place at one of Saudi’s most exquisite locations, the UNESCO heritage site in AlUla which will open to the public in October, the Desert Polo is also considered as a milestone in Saudi Arabia’s sporting and social journey.
Saad Lamjarred Set to Perform in Riyadh This Month!

Jason Derulo to Headline Closing Night Concert at the Riot Games Fest
The three-day ‘Riot Games‘ festival has announced that the international star Jason Derulo will headline a concert for the closing night of the event, The Nexus, happening in Riyadh Boulevard.
Jason Derulo is set to take on the stage next Saturday for one epic closure to the immersive themed festival which revolves around the iconic League of Legends.
The event where participants get to compete for a share of $2 million prize from six competitions, bringing the number of participants to the Nexus Festival to a total of 30,000.
Valuable prizes aren’t the sole motive but also the incredible line-up with Los Angeles-based DJ, Mako, and electronic music stars Crystal Method from Las Vegas who are set to perform on Friday and Saturday night.
The event which is part of this Riyadh Season, will run from December 5th to the 7th of December.
