Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has ordered coronavirus treatment to be provided for all and free of charge to all citizens of governmental and private sectors and even to those who have overstayed their visas in the Kingdom.
The announcement was made by the Kingdom’s health minister, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, during a press conference in Riyadh that was held yesterday.
The minister assured that the King’s order includes all citizens and residents – even those in violation of residency laws.
Al-Rabiah further explained that this royal decision comes in light of the King’s keenness in putting the health of all citizens above all, and to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents of the Kingdom.

This great act of kindness and magnanimous gesture has even caught the attention of the World Health Organization chief, who praised the King’s efforts in a tweet.
“This is what #HealthForAll means! Thank you so much @KingSalman for your leadership and commitment to ensure everyone has access to the health services needed to fight #COVID19. I hope other countries will follow your lead! Solidarity!” Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, tweeted.
Saudi Scholarship Students Abroad Will Continue to Receive Financial Allocations
The Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Bin Muhammad Al-Asheikh has announced that the financial aid for scholarship students will remain as it is, that includes financial allocations, medical insurance, and treatment allowance to male and female scholarship students abroad and their dependents.
The decision comes in light of other exceptional measures that address the situation of Saudi scholarship holders and their dependents abroad, amidst the coronavirus pandemic especially that many students aren’t able to return home.
These measures were taken after several concerns came to the surface from Saudi scholarship students in foreign countries, now they can all rest assured that the Kingdom will have their backs until they return safely to their hometown.
This decision of continuing the disbursement of financial aid will also include students who have been deprived from it, and those whose scholarships have ended but are still stuck in a foreign country.
This means that even if a student has already graduated but is unable to return to the Kingdom due to the current crisis, they will still get the financial aid they need to survive it.
Implementation of these measures will cover the next three months, hopefully after which, the crisis will come to an end.
