So far in Jeddah, at least 176,000 people have been using this application in order to check whether they test positive or negative for the Coronavirus. The application has been a success and has proved that people are seeking comfort and guidance from it.

Many applications have been made worldwide to help aid people in times of COVID-19. Mawid, on the other hand, has proven to be one of the most successful so far. Out of the 176,000 citizens, 170,000 have shown reassuring results and are capable of checking in as well as retaking the test every day. However, 3,000 have shown to have some symptoms of the virus leaving them in the medium range.

2,700 citizens were advised to call the Coronavirus hotline number 937 or even contact an actual health institution for an in depth consultation. These people have shown to be at a high risk.

“Twenty people were diagnosed with early symptoms and received medical treatment at an early stage, protecting themselves and others,” said Dr. Mohammed Al Abd, Ministry Spokesman.

Dr. Mohammed has urged people to seek treatment if they feel like they are developing early symptoms of the Coronavirus rather than dismiss it as a regular flu. He is stressing on the point that this isn’t only to look after your own health but so as to ensure the health of the rest of the citizens and to protect your loved ones.

92 new cases of the Coronavirus have been announced by Dr Mohammed, he claims that 10 of these people are travelers who have come from abroad. These people have been quarantined immediately.

Unfortunately, the remaining 82 people who had tested positive had mixed with someone who had the Coronavirus to begin with.

Saudi Arabia’s numbers for COVID-19 are increasing by the minute. So far, it has been confirmed that the number of people that have tested positive for the virus as 1,104. Fortunate for them, these patients are stable for now and no new deaths have been reported by the government.

On the other hand, the total number of recoveries since the beginning of the outbreak are 35.
