E-Visas Granted in Minutes For Visitors Of Jeddah Season Events

Organizers of the Jeddah Season program have revealed that visitors buying online tickets for the events will be able to obtain an e-tourism visa at the very same time in only three minutes.

The announcement comes after the launch of more international shows and plays to come to the Kingdom for the first time in light of the city’s 40-day ‘Sea and Culture‘ festival of fun and entertainment.

The Jeddah Season is another attempt in boosting tourism in Saudi Arabia and promoting for its culture and heritage, that’s why visa obtaining is being facilitated.

Now, any visitor will be issued an e-visa within three minutes upon purchasing an event ticket.

These entertainment program aims at positioning the city as a top touristic destination as well as encouraging partnership with local businesses. Moreover, organizer hope that by doing more of these events, more than 20,000 job opportunities will be generated for young Saudis.

General supervisor of Jeddah Season, Raed Abuzinada, said the festival is part of the Kingdom’s 2030 Vision in promoting for the tourism sector which is seen as a major contributor to the economy.

He further explained that the issuing of the e-visas are linked to the purchase of tickets for any Jeddah Season event, so that visitors are automatically granted a tourist visa once they purchase any festival tickets.

Saudi Arabia to Allow Couples to Share A Hotel Room Without a Marriage Proof

The Kingdom continues to make historic reforms as it opens up to tourists and this week, the tourism authority announced a revolutionary guideline which allows foreign women and men to share a hotel room without a marriage proof.

First, women were allowed to travel without a male guardianship and now the Kingdom is easing the regulations for foreign tourists after the launch of the first tourist visa scheme, all comes in light of the 2030 Vision that aims at diversifying the economy of Saudi Arabia. 

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage stated that women can now rent a hotel room using a proof of identity only, and without the need of a male approval.

The new visa allows tourists to enter the Kingdom for 90 days and this marks the Kingdom’s first time to open up for foreigners and in doing so, the tourism sector has already contributed with a 3% to the total GDP of Saudi Arabia and with these new reforms and easing of regulations, the government aspires to push the 3% to 10% in the upcoming period.

France to Host An Exhibition Showcasing The Wonders of Al-Ula

France is set to host the first intentional exhibition entitled “AlUla: Kingdom’s Wonder” which is dedicated to showcasing the natural heritage and rich history of Al-Ula in Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition will be held at the headquarters of the Arab World Institute (IMA) in Paris starting from October 9th to the 9th of January.

According to Jack Land, IMA’s president and former French minister of culture, the expo aims at introducing the visitors to the beauty of Al-Ula and display its unique archaeological formation and the breathtaking natural destinations.

“In partnership with the Kingdom, the exhibition will allow visitors to discover the beauty of AlUla area and its natural diversity, as well as to learn about its history and civilizations witnessed over 7,000 years through artistic works, paintings and archaeological sculptures.” He added.
