The 2018 Asian Games is proving to be a blockbuster event with many talented sportsmen being brought to the spotlight. For Saudi Arabia, this Asian games is truly special as they have sent their largest female contingent yet.
The games which are being held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang are going on till the 2nd of September. The Saudi contingent has bagged 4 medals so far and has made the entire country proud.
Hussain Ghuwayli Al-Harbi
Al Harbi opened Saudi Arabia’s account at the Asian Games by winning the first medal for the country by bagging a silver medal in the men’s 300-meter standard rifle event.
Ramzy Al-Duhami, Khaled Al-Mobty, Khaled Al-Eid and Abdullah Al-Sharbatly
In the equestrian team jumping event, the Saudi quartet managed to clinch the only gold medal for Saudi in this year’s edition of the games. In total, they accumulated minimal penalties of 10.90, which was enough to see them notch the pole position.

Rising Saudi karate star, Al Turkistani won silver in the men’s kumite 75 kilograms competition.
Tariq Ali Hamedi
Ali Hamedi’s 4-0 win over his Kyrgyz counterpart in the men’s kumite +84 kilograms competition helped Saudi Arabia secure its second medal in Karate. He lost in the semifinals and had to settle for a bronze medal.
